Since its initial inception, Distractions has transformed into something more introspective, carrying a deeper emotional weight. Now infused with a sense of yearning amid exploration, the track resonates as a reflection of life’s dualities - nostalgia intertwined with adventure, grounding emotions within a delicate groove.
“So, we actually made this song by accident. We were given a brief to write music for an electronics company (can’t remember who tbh probably tamagotchi or maybe NASA) and we sat there in a bedroom and basically churned the majority of the track in about 2 hours. It came so easy for both of us, as the best songs of ours often do. Safe to say we didn’t get back to that company with this song because we loved it too much. There’s something really calming yet exciting about it. Real optimistic feel. You could probably play this out in a club but also put it over like a holiday recap tiktok, if you’d be so inclined.”
