In this episode of the Ninja Tune Podcast, Luke Mark and Isaac Wood from the band Black Country New Road chat with Britt Walford, the drummer and founder of the influential band Slint. Benny Wenda

In this episode of the Ninja Tune Podcast, Matt Black, Ninja Tune founder and 1/2 of Coldcut talks with Benny Wenda, the West Papuan independence leader. Coldcut — who are friends of the Wenda family and long term supporters of the Free West Papua campaign—invited Benny Wenda to contribute to the Keleketla! record that was released last year. The resulting track, ‘Papua Merdeka’, centres around a heartfelt political invocation led by Wenda. It’s a call for freedom for the nation of West Papua from Indonesia, from which Wenda fled in 2004 after being persecuted by the Indonesian military.
